Farmstay accommodation, Te Anau, Manapouri, Fiordland

If you don't mind being a little out of Te Anau or Manapouri, then staying in a self-contained holiday house in the country, usually built on a working farm, or alternatively on a rural lifestyle block (a smaller plot of land where the owners have their own animals or grow their own veggies), is a great option and perfect for families. Stay in your own space, but have the benefit of the advice and help of our friendly farmers and lifestyle families, by browsing the list below. The great thing about staying on a farm, or with a lifestyle family, is that you are in beautiful rural surroundings, and also have the opportunity to find out more about New Zealand rural life and usually meet some animals, as well as enjoy Fiordland. Many of our farms and lifestyle blocks are populated by sheep, deer, horses, and even alpaca.

Most countryside accommodation is in separate cottages on the owner's land, but some also more traditional B&B-style, in rooms in the owner's house.
